BIOGRAPHY

A keen athlete and rugby player from an early age, Justin began his training venture in athletics at the age of 12 with Oxford City Athletic Club. Training with athletes and coaches affiliated to Linford Christie, John Regis, and Kriss Akabusi, he was surrounded by a wealth of experience that propelled his athletic understanding and ability over the following years. Training progressed very well, competing regularly around the country with a performance PB of 10.69s for the 100m. Unfortunately, Justin struggled with re-occurring injuries that ultimately ended a very promising track and field career all too soon. With the door to track and field closed, other doors opened: one in a working capacity as a health and fitness professional, and another that led to a very fast (and very cold) few years with the GB Bobsleigh team. As a fitness professional, Justin focused on all elements of fitness instruction, personal training, strength and rehabilitation as well as diet and nutrition. Relocating to Aylesbury for two years, Justin worked out of the the Guttman Centre within Stoke Mandeville Stadium - widely recognised as the birthplace of the Paralympic movement. Whilst at the Guttman Centre, Justin supported clients with major back injuries (mainly rehabilitation and post operation assessment and program prescription/design) whilst also training Paralympic athletes. Seeking new challenges, a change of career saw Justin move through the Ranks as a Weapon Engineering Artificer in the Royal Navy. His passion for results-based coaching, however, continued whilst in the Armed Forces, where he returned to his roots and began coaching rugby and athletics. As an England Athletics Sprints coach, he continues to coach at his local club, City of Plymouth Athletic Club, whilst also coaching sprints for the Royal Navy Athletics Club and the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Bobsleigh and Skeleton Team. Justin also coaches two GB Bobsleigh athletes, helping both athletes improve their sprint biomechanics in preparation for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
